All EAC approval documents issued by accredited certification authorities in any CU country are fully accepted in Kazakhstan, as confirmed in practice.
However, some national conformity systems remain in effect, particularly for measuring devices, fire safety appliances, building materials, domestic chemical products, and more. In such cases, mandatory Kazakhstan approvals (GOST-K) or voluntary certifications may be required. Additionally, for equipment used in hazardous facilities, a special certification system is regulated by the Industrial Development and Industrial Safety Committee. This authority issues the Permission for Use, an obligatory approval that cannot be substituted by an EAC Certificate or Declaration of Conformity, and must be obtained in addition to standard EAC documents.

Most Kazakhstan approvals are valid for up to five years, allowing serial exports with a single set of documents. It is important to note that foreign approval documents are not recognized in Kazakhstan (with limited exceptions for in-house produced goods from Russia and other CIS countries). Therefore, local testing is always required to obtain a GOST-K Certificate or Declaration of Conformity.
Upon successful certification, your products can be marked with a special Kazakhstan conformity label, regardless of whether the approval is voluntary or mandatory. Labeling requirements are described in detail below.
