SASO

Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) is the national authority responsible for standards and technical regulations in Saudi Arabia. As part of the SALEEM program, SASO defines quality and safety requirements to protect consumers and the environment, while ensuring imported goods meet national technical standards.

Saber

SABER is an online platform that allows importers and manufacturers to obtain Certificates of Conformity for consumer products, whether imported or locally manufactured. As of January 2021, all regulated and non-regulated products must be registered in SABER before entering the Saudi market.

Who should register?

All importers and manufacturers registered in Saudi Arabia’s commercial register, as well as local manufacturers, must register their products in SABER.

Certificate of Product Conformity (PCoC)

A PCoC is mandatory for each regulated product and confirms compliance with SASO’s technical regulations. It is issued online via SABER and remains valid for one year.

Shipping Certificate of Conformity (SCoC)

Every imported shipment requires an SCoC. For regulated products, an SCoC can only be issued once a valid PCoC is already in place. It is delivery-specific and must be obtained through SABER.

IECEE Recognition

The SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate applies to specific electrical equipment and components. It is valid for one year and must be renewed annually. In many cases, the IECEE certificate is a prerequisite for obtaining the SASO Certificate of Conformity.

CITC
