EQM
EMIRATES QUALITY MARK
The (EQM) is a mark of conformity granted to the products that can demonstrate compliance with the relevant UAE National Standards, Regional and/or International Standards and are manufactured by an organization implementing an effective Quality Management System to ensure continuous compliance.
The process of achieving the license to use the Emirates Quality Mark involves a comprehensive evaluation of the product as well as the quality system used by the manufacturer in production through auditing, testing and inspection.
- Issuance of License to use Emirates Quality mark for Products and factories According to the technical requirements of Board of directors decision no. (2-2-3) for the year 2013 related to Emirates Quality Mark Scheme , click here for more information, refer to Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) website.
- The EQM Certificate can be used to clear shipments from Ports and Customs Authorities instead of ECAS Certificate for the certified products only.
- The Mark can be printed on the certified product as a proof of compliance and approval by the Federal Government through the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT).
The EQM is a Conformity mark granted to products that comply with international standards of Quality Management System and Continuous improvement.
EQM is a Voluntary Certificate valid for 3 years (For Bottled Drinking Water it is mandatory to have it).
With the EQM Certificate, the products are testified to demonstrate compliance with International Quality Standards. The manufacturer has implemented an effective quality management system to ensure continuous compliance.
EQM involves a comprehensive evaluation of the product as well as the quality system used by the manufacturer in production via auditing, testing, and inspection.
The mark is to be printed in the certified product as proof of compliance and approval by the Federal government through ESMA.
Application requirements
- A valid UAE Trade / Industry License or any proof of manufacturing unit from any country
- Declaration of Conformity
- Test report for the product, meeting the requirements of the UAE Scheme and the relevant product standard
- Quality Management System (QMS) Manual for each factory
- Factory field visit

- Brief Description of Manufacturing Process
- Controlled Copy of relevant QMS/HACCP Manual.
- Distributor ownership (for Traders only )
- Electronic Declaration of Conformity.
- Evidence of Approval from other Conformity Assessment Bodies
- Fees
- Fulfill the requirements of the card Label
- Plant Equipment Lay-out
- Quality control plan
