EOS
EOS (Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality) is the national authority responsible for standards, quality control, and industrial metrology. Its mission is to improve the competitiveness of Egyptian products in regional and international markets while safeguarding consumers and the environment.
Main Certification Schemes:
- Conformity Mark Scheme – mandatory for products covered by Ministerial Decrees
- Quality Mark Scheme – voluntary, available upon request by manufacturers
GOEIC
The General Organization for Import and Export Control (GOEIC) manages inspections of imported goods and issues official inspection certificates.
Ves Certification supports exporters by providing company registration services when a local representative is not available.
Certification Routes:
Route A: Unregistered or Unlicensed Products
- Document Verification – submission of RFC, Pro-forma Invoice, Packing List, Letter of Credit (if applicable), and available conformity documents.
- Laboratory Testing – samples analyzed in ISO 17025 accredited laboratories.
- Physical Inspection – verification of goods and/or container supervision before shipment.
Route B: Registered Products
- Document Verification – same document requirements as Route A.
- Registration – product samples tested in accredited labs, followed by registration support from Ves Certification.
- Physical Inspection – goods inspected and container loading supervised.

EGAC
EGAC (Egyptian Accreditation Council) is the only body authorized to accredit conformity assessment entities such as testing and calibration labs, inspection bodies, medical labs, and certification bodies.
Steps of the Accreditation Process:
- Application submission
- Document review and assessment team assignment
- Pre-assessment visit
- On-site assessment and identification of nonconformities
- Review and approval of corrective actions
- Accreditation granted
- Annual surveillance audits

NTRA Approval
The National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) requires type approval for telecom and radio devices. Approval is typically based on foreign test reports issued by accredited laboratories.
Approval Schemes:
- Light Scheme – for applicants from Western Europe, North America, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Russia, Singapore, and Australia
- Tight Scheme – for applicants from China or India (with stricter testing requirements)
- Guided Scheme – for local Egyptian applicants
- Intermediate Scheme – for applicants from all other countries
Certificate Validity
- Approvals are indefinite
- Process usually takes 8 weeks, but may extend to 12 weeks for products from China or India
