CMIM

To ensure the safety of industrial products in the Moroccan market, regulations on product and service safety establish the legal framework that defines the requirements products must meet.

The CMIM mark confirms that products placed on the market comply with Moroccan regulatory requirements and standards.

Who is responsible for applying the CMIM mark?

Since January 1, 2020, the responsibility for marking and labeling lies solely with the manufacturer. Importers are no longer authorized to label products; manufacturers must ensure marking before the product enters Morocco.

Scope of the CMIM mark

  • Electrical equipment designed for use within specified voltage limits (Low Voltage Directive - LVD)
  • Equipment subject to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
  • Toys requiring certification and testing

How to certify conformity of products under CMIM through a third-party body?
Moroccan standards (NM) are harmonized with European standards (EN). A cross-reference table of NM/EN standards must be attached, with Moroccan standards mentioned in the voluntary third-party assessment.

Labeling and marking requirements:

  • The mark must be displayed visibly, legibly, and indelibly on the product
  • It should not be confused with other distinctive signs
  • The vertical dimension of the letter "C" must not be less than 6 mm
  • The logo should be affixed to the product. If this is not possible, it may be placed on the packaging and accompanying documents

CoC - Certificate of Conformity Morocco

Since February 1, 2020, all products on Morocco’s control list must comply with national technical regulations and standards. The Verification of Conformity (VoC) program ensures product compliance. Shipments without proof of compliance may be rejected at the port of entry.

Manufacturers and exporters must complete local verification and work with an authorized inspection body to obtain a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) before exporting products to Morocco.
